Feed the Hungry
Feed The Hungry (FTH) is one of San Miguel de Allende's oldest, most well-known, and highly respected charities. It began as a single soup kitchen for poor people in 1987 at St. Pauls Episcopal Church. Now, FTH operates 35 kitchens in and around San Miguel, and serves a hot, nutritious meal to four thousand hungry children every school day of the year. In many cases, this is the onlySchool attendance goes up by as much as 20% when Feed The Hungry builds and opens a kitchen. The teachers report better attitudes, improved performance, increased attention during class, and, in general, happier children. In addition to providing meals, sustainable success in school is one of our major goals.
Our goal, even in these tough economic times, is to secure funding for, build, and support two new kitchens each year for the next five years. For this, we need your help.
