Located inside the stylish Hotel Matilda. Enrique Olvera, one of Mexico's top chef has introduced a contemporary metropolitan culinary experience to San Miguel de Allende for the first time, putting Moxi on the dining cutting edge. The seasonal and ingredient-driven cuisine is a mélange of Classical Continental and Latin American cooking with dashes of other global influences. Enrique Olvera's menu is in perfect step with the consistent theme that paints every aspect of the Hotel Matilda experience: take the traditional and move it forward with the latest emerging innovations and trends.

Diners discover comfort foods with creative twists, traditional dishes that have been reinvented with exciting new ingredients and textures, and flavors that are familiar and popular but given a different persona with unexpected presentations. The restaurant is a perfect blend of timehonored traditional foods and techniques and today’s innovative culinary artistry – producing dishes that delight a cross-section of palettes, from sophisticated and adventurous diners, to U.S. tourists and American residents of San Miguel, to Mexicans from the local area and Mexico City alike.

This is the loveliest DR in SMA. For any time of day or night. However, the American chef Bernard has left and our dinner was disappointing. The menu is changing again since the Mexican chef arrived and that may help. The menu was not interesting and odd combinations and left us wondering what to try. We split an appetizer and it came on two plates which we appreciated. It was cherry tomatoes on a Mexican feta cheese with avocado and a lacking vinaigrette....ordinary at best. My guest's tuna was very good and nicely presented, but my fish dish was......well.....awful. The stuff on the plate made no sense. White wines by the glass were okay and they are changing the list....hopefully they will add Mexican sparking by the glass, too.
